I just rejoined the forum. In recent years I have mostly been working on orignal 3D printed figures. This is my latest figure. It is the first one that only used ball joints. The figure is quite easy to assemble andvery sturdy compared to favorite versions. It worked well enough that I could make a short stop motion animation with it as the main character. It is easy to swap parts too. This came in handy when doing different gestures and emotions in the animation by swapping hands and heads.
Here is the animation to go along with it:
I hope you enjoy it, Hauke

Hauke is always welcome! What's your opinion of the resolution you're getting with the 3D printer? Looks a little rough, and yet almost like a conscious style choice.

Thanks Casimir! I use a printer that is a little bit rough but makes very sturdie models, which I prefer for the highly articulated figures. Also the closeups in the video make them look rougher then when you hold them in your hands. But for the video I kinda like this look since it makes them almost look like clay figures. I could probably smooth the models a little bit with acetone but I am unsure how this might affect finer details and as I said in most cases they look fine in hand.
