Hey everybody!
My name is Chris. I've been a huge fan of this site and the work you guys and gals do for really long time now. Since it looks like the customizing has slowed down a bit on the site I figured it was finally time to introduce myself and post some of my work. Here's a little back story on me first though.
I've been a huge fan of the DCAU since I was 2 years old, watching the original run of BTAS. Ever since then I've loved Batman and just comic heroes in general. Like a lot of you I was one of those kids that built playsets out of cardboard boxes and figures with construction paper capes and clothes to turn them into other characters. I remember seeing customs in the back of the old toy magazines in the late 90's/early 00's but I really forgot about them until about 8 years ago when I discovered Casimir's and Bill Burns' sites. Those two individuals really reignited my interest in toys and the DCAU specifically. I had still been collecting the JLU stuff but seeing what they could do really made me want to try my hand at customizing. I started simple just repainting shirts on some Buffy/Angel figures, the eyes on Ra's (such a little change, but it makes him appear so much more accurate), etc. until I started working my way up to sculpting (sculpy first now green stuff), and finally coming full circle to making full playsets/dioramas and waves of figures.
So why did it take me so long to finally post on here? Well, 1) I wanted to hone my skills before posting stuff, 2) I wanted a back catalog of figures since it takes a while to make them (That way I could still consistently post stuff without having to rush through making new ones), and 3) life gets in the way. I went to college and put the hobby on hold for a while but now that I've graduated and living in the real world I have more free time on my hands to do what I love. Anyway, I just want to say it's a real honor to finally post my creations on here with you guys. I hope you like them! (end rant lol)
Here's one of my more recent customs. I made her about a year and a half ago. I wanted my first post to be someone who I've never seen a custom of before so without further ado....
