I think it's more of a custom than a prototype. Toy companies usually do not make their prototypes out of resin & not hand painted. They're usually made out of different color random plastic. That's more the sign of a cast. There was a bunch of young justice " prototypes " on ebay like this. But they were all casts. Even if thisis an actual figure that was supposed to be produced that someone got a hold of & made a cast of, I don't consider that a prototype. Stew did that with Toyman, Darksied, & Lex Luthor. They are just casts of the prototypes & not the actual prototype. Not even worth the $75.00 it's up to right now, because I feel it is being misrepresented as something it's not.

I have to say, just looking through the seller's auctions, it doesn't really seem like they are customs.

The Nighthawk he is basically admitting is a prototype copy by the title. Where the Arnim Zola he wasn't even though I'm sure it is. The Gargoyle does looks legit

It's the same seller. He's just casting, painting, & selling. Too bad the guys bidding these up don't realize that. No offense to your buddy!
