After my accident & I feel like my skills have diminished some since I have no feeling in my fingers. I proved to myself, I could still do this but I was kind of done. But I had one project that I was literally working on for 2 years which was going to be my last Hoorah! More about that later.
But then I found out Kevin Conroy was coming to my city for Wizard World & it got me watching BTAS episodes again. Kind of gave me the ambition to finish a few other things that I've always wanted to make.
In my time doing this, I've made a lot of villians. There's just so many of them from episodes that Kenner never made. So the villians in my display case overpower the hero shelf. Jonah Hex was always on my to do list. SO I felt like I needed to make him for the hero shelf.
I actually started out thinking I was going to use a trenchcoat Joker figure with some parts spliced in from Vigilante. But once I started putting it all together I went another direction. I ended up using Vigilante & splicing in some parts from the Joker. I think that worked out better.
BTAS Jonah Hex
I've made the TNBA BabyDoll & made a kit of her. But I've always wanted to make the BTAS BabyDoll also. I thought I had half the battle done because I could just use the TNBA kit I made & sculpt a new head. But then it turned out to be more work once I started watching the episode. I had to resculpt the legs & arms since the BTAS BabyDoll is a bit thicker than her TNBA counterpart. I was finished with her & the head I sculpted just seemed to big. I knew it was going to drive me crazy so I had to sculpt a smaller one. And here's the finished product.
BTAS BabyDoll
SO I went on after all this to meet Kevin Conroy & Loren Lester ( Nightwing/Robin ) was there too. After hanging out with them for 2 days & talking to them about the series, I found more ambition. I kind of thought that if Kenner would've made a BabyDoll figure bitd she would've been an accessory. Much like DC Collectibles released the TNBA one with Killer Croc. So who was her accomplice in the episode? Miriam..... I guess I had to make a Miriam. I had the right scrap parts laying around to do just that. Her torso is a STAS Supergirl figure, & the skirt was from Stew's jacket/skirt torso. Her legs came from a JLU Wonder Woman along with he left arm. The right was from Black Canary, I would've used both but I already used the other one for Roxy Rocket I think. Like I said, just wanted to use scrap parts. The head I just sculpted from scratch. In the episode she rolled out a camera to film the " BabyDoll " show. I knew one of those creeper cameras I was hanging onto was going to come in handy someday!
