Starting up a thread just for general game talk. Anyone can chime in, there is no specific topic other than talking about video games.
I'll start things off just by introducing a subject Tomato and I were talking about, Mass Effect 3.
There was a lot of controversy about the games ending with people getting super butthurt over it and basically shaming BIOWARE into making an new ending to quiet down all the crybabies haha. If you cant tell by my previous sentence, I think all the complaining was just a load of crap from a bunch of babies who are a bit too entitled frankly.
In my mind the fact that BIOWARE caved and changed the ending really hurts artist because it sets a precedent where if you cry about something enough you can get an artist to move away from their original vision of how something was supposed to be to a point where they end up powdering all the cry babies bottoms and tuck them into bed and read them the story they want to hear and not the one the artists created.
So yeah, anyone else play Mass Effect(s) 1,2 or 3 beside Tomato and I?
I very recently beat Arkham Knight and a couple of the DLC packs for it, but that's really the last big game I've put any time into. That said, I've also been running Amiibo tournaments in Smash 4 every so often so I can grind items and stuff while I'm not at home. Last winner was Charizard, which was interesting because I had just purchased him prior to running the tournament, so he was way behind the other Amiibos.

Honestly never really liked the Arkham games cuz their just beatem ups and I freakin hate those types of games. They look great and I've played the first 2 in an effort to try and like them but just cant get past the terrible fight mechanics and crowd bangin nonsense. I just dont have the patience for that or traditional 1 on 1 fighters. Just not my thing.
Ive been playing Borderlands the Handsome Collection and being bored out of my mind by it. Its not nearly as funny or engaging as the previous games and its just turned into a boring slog basically. Nearly finished it but I'm stuck on this damn boss battle where you gotta fight a space ship and all my guns are trash.
I have all of them for PS3 except the Jurassic. Only one I lost interest in was batman 2.
Yeah, they aren't terribly engaging for the most part unless you're a kid, but they have a charm for sure and can be fun every now and then just to mess around with.
Man, I love the lego games. It's been hard for me to keep up with them given all the series they have going, but I've 100%ed most of the ones I own (LB2 has some icky trohpies and LHP5-7 has one freaking trohpy I have to play through most of the game again to get). They have the perfect balance of fun, but they don't require the investment I need out of a game like Kingdom Hearts.

I like them but they are kinda thin on story so I find my engagement being spotty at best. I like messing around here and there but unlike other games, I don't ever feel the need to grind through the entire thing over the course of a few days. The Star Wars games have been my favorites to date, but the others are still solid fun for a bit here and there.
I think it depends. Marvel definitely wasn't the best story wise (Galactus as the final boss? Been there, done that, k thx) but I feel like Batman 3 kept me engaged all the way to the end. Definitely more than 2 did, at least. And the DLC for 3 was great, I laughed so hard at certain points of the Arrow level.

Going back to something I was saying before, I'm really disappointed with Borderlands Handsome Collection. I LOVED BL2 and have about 700 hrs on that and about 200 on BL1, but the Handsome Collection just really missed the mark for.
For a game like Borderlands that really relied on tongue in cheek humor and really off the cuff style, HC just totally lost that feeling and comes off as kind of contrived and not very cohesive across the board. The voice acting has some of the most grating character work I've ever heard and they repeat dialogue constantly which really takes you out of the moment.
The other BL games had great voice casts and characters but HC is just super dull, at least for me anyway.
Anyone else played any of the Borderlands games? Opinions?
i enjoy lego games because i dont get time to play video games all the time. unlike other games, i can just pick up and play without remembering what to do next. all other games requires me to remember where i left off to understand whats next. i only get to play a few times a month and i rather enjoy it with a lego game instead of starting over again.

That is a huge plus for sure. Its what I tend to call disposable gaming. Its like phone games that don't require any investment and you can sit down for a bit with them and not have to get too invested in a story-line or learning mechanics and all that sort of thing. That's one of the greatest strengths of the LEGO games is not having to like you said, remember stuff and just being able to pick them up and have it be a leisurely experience that can be fun at times.
They really do strike a good balance with those games whereby you can invest time and look for hidden things and really get deep into putting special parts together and all that, or you can just run around and swing on stuff, and shoot things and not feel like you're missing out on the experience because its got a lot of facets depending on what you're looking for personally.
